The China Now Music Festival closes with a new concert version of Hao Weiya‘s 2021 chamber opera AI’s Variation and a performance of unique arrangements for mixed Chinese and Western instruments by the Bard East/West Ensemble. The program is haunted by ghosts of the past and future, as imagined by some of the most creative talents in musical composition working today.

Presented by the US-China Music Institute of the Bard College Conservatory of Music, in collaboration with the Central Conservatory of Music, China.

An Evening of Music with the Bard East/West Ensemble

presented by Asia Society in collaboration with The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

The Bard East/West Ensemble makes its debut in Washington D.C. as part of the "COAL + ICE" documentary photography exhibition and climate-themed arts festival organized by Asia Society and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which is currently running through April 22 at The REACH at Kennedy Center. All events are free and open to the public.
