ADVANCED INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDY OF CHINESE MUSIC

The US-China Music Institute is proud to announce the new Master of Arts in Chinese Music and Culture, a two-year full-time degree program unlike any other in the world. Starting in the fall of 2022, this innovative graduate-level program offers music students who are proficient in both English and Chinese a rich interdisciplinary curriculum exploring the intersections between the music and the culture of China. Degree candidates can choose from different concentrations depending on their specialization: Chinese or Western instruments, voice, musicology/ethnomusicology, or composition.

The degree is offered through the Bard College Conservatory of Music in collaboration with the Asian Studies Program at Bard. The chair is US-China Music Institute director Jindong Cai.
