A Bridge for US-China Cultural Exchange
Music in Motion is the theme of the 3rd annual US-China Music Forum, a vibrant gathering on cross-cultural exchange co-presented by the US-China Music Institute and China Daily in conjunction with the China Now Music Festival. The forum will take place immediately following the China Now orchestra concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center.
Moderator Belinda Robinson has been a reporter in the NY office of China Daily since 2018, where she has covered many local arts events focusing on Asia as well as US news, politics, and business.
Speaker Alicia Adams, former vice president for international programming at the Kennedy Center, will reflect on the progress of US-China cultural exchange during her decades-long tenure at Washington DC's premiere institution for the performing arts.
The Bard East/West Ensemble’s recent musical tour to China, as described by conductor and festival artistic director Jindong Cai, will serve as a case study for making connections at the grassroots level.
Principal cellist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Hai-Ye Ni, and members of the Bard East/West Ensemble will share their firsthand experiences of music in motion across borders.
A reception with wine and refreshments follows the discussion for all registered forum ticket holders.*
